What is Bushcare?
The Blue Mountains Bushcare Program aims to foster a sense of community responsibility for the management and conservation of our local environment. Bushcare is a great way to learn more about the bushland we live in.
Bushcarers are working to restore the local bushland in your neighbourhood and involved in bush regeneration and Streamwatch activities in Wilsons Glen Reserve.
Wilsons Glen Bushcare Group is just one of 62 volunteer Groups operating in the Blue Mountains.
Wilson Glen Bushcare
The Wilsons Glen Bushcare Group has been established since late 2002, and at monthly meetings focus their Bushcare efforts around the Gypsy Pool and tackling various weed issues around the Reserve edges. The Group also works in Blue Mountains Swamps and other sensitive areas throughout the Reserve to help keep them weed-free.
Supported by Blue Mountains City Council, Bushcare and Landcare Groups spend a few hours every month helping to manage invasive weeds and regenerate natural bushland areas.
